OYSTER BED BRIDGE, P.E.I. – The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour lands at Oyster Bed Speedway tonight for the Parts for Trucks 150.
It is the fifth in the 12-race series and the first of two appearances on the Island this season.
Qualifying begins at 6 p.m. in Oyster Bed Bridge.
Greg Proude of Springvale won the only tour race hosted at Oyster Bed Speedway last season and leads a strong contingent of Island drivers in this weekend’s field, which sees Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown), Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall) and Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell) in the top 10 of the championship points race.
Less than 20 points separate the top three drivers with Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, N.S.) sitting atop the leader board. Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, N.S.) is now in second after his second win of the season last weekend at Scotia Speedworld. Reigning series champ Shawn Turple (Enfield, N.S.) also did well at the Nova Truck Centres 150 and currently sits third. Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, N.S.) and MacKinnon are keeping pace with the leaders and round out the top five, respectively.
The Oyster Bed Speedway Outlaws and the Maritime League of Legends Tour will each run a 50-lap feature before the main event.
Tickets are available at the gates on race day. Adult admission is $25, youth eight to 15 years old are $10, while children under seven are free. Pit admission is $35.
