MONCTON, N.B. – Brent Jennings scored 24 points to lead his current team over his former team Wednesday in National Basketball League of Canada action.
The forward went 6-for-8 from three-point territory to pace the host Moncton Magic to a 113-88 victory over the Island Storm.
Corey Allmond had 21 points while Terry Thomas and Jason Calliste each chipped in 11. Anthony Anderson was held to 10 points and eight assists in 23 minutes.
Andre Stringer had 19 points to lead the Storm while Du’Vaughn Maxwell had 14 points. Brad States had 12 rebounds and eight points while Franklin Session had seven points, seven assists and eight rebounds.
Tyler Scott and newcomer Chris Anderson had 10 points off the bench for the Storm while Chris Johnson did not play.
The Magic held quarter leads of 25-15, 60-40 and 85-70 while the Storm went 5-for-16 (31 per cent) at the free-throw line.
The Magic improved to 12-11 while the Storm fell to 9-11. The Storm travels to Sydney, N.S., Saturday to play the Cape Breton Highlanders at 7 p.m. before coming home to host the Halifax Hurricanes Sunday at 2 p.m.
