HALIFAX, N.S. – The Halifax Hurricanes have taken a 2-0 lead in the National Basketball League of Canada final with the London Lightning.

The host Hurricanes outscored the Lightning by nine points in the third quarter Tuesday en route to an 100-91 victory.

Billy White (23 points and 10 rebounds), Tyrone Watson (22 pints and 10 rebounds) and Rhamel Brown (18 points and 10 rebounds) each had double-doubles for the Hurricanes.

Garrett Williams had 21 points to pace the Lightning while Julian Boyd chipped in 18 points and 14 rebounds.

The Hurricanes led 18-15 after the first quarter, but the teams went to the half tied at 41. Halifax took a 70-61 advantage to the fourth.

There were 2,681 people at the game. The series now shifts to London, Ont., for Games 3-5 on Thursday, Saturday and Monday (if necessary).
