Gold Cup and Saucer consolation goes tonight at CDP

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The World Driving Championship takes centre stage on tonight's card at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park as part of Old Home Week racing but there is lots of other action underway.

The 12-dash card, which begins at 7 p.m., also has the $20,000 James (Roach) MacGregor Gold Cup and Saucer consolation in the evening's finale. McKinney is favoured from Post 5 with Charlottetown native Jason Ryan in the bike for trainer Kyle Fellows of Ontario after failing to make the final with a seventh-place finish in Trial 2 Monday night.
Other entries include 1. Junebugs Baby (Driven by Myles Heffernan), 2. Stover (James MacDonald), 3. Skyway Boomer (Brett MacDonald), 4. Good Friday Three (Clare MacDonald) and 6. Windsong Leo (Dan O’Brian).
The Lady Slipper stakes for three-year-old filly pacers are also on the card with $11,600 gold divisions in Races 8 and 11.
The doubleheader day has a nine-dash afternoon card as well getting underway at 1 p.m.
