CHARLOTTETOWN – The Western Regals are moving on in the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League semifinals.

The Regals defeated the Central Attack 5-1 on Thursday, and 4-1 on Friday to win the best-of-five quarter-final series in four games. The Regals will now face the first-place Mid-Isle Matrix in a best-of-five semifinal series, which will get underway at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud on Sunday at 4:40 p.m.

Regals 4 Attack 1
At MacLauchlan Arena on the UPEI campus, Tristan Cahill’s hat trick and Jesse Hackett’s single marker accounted for the Regals’ scoring. Chandler DesRoches added two assists.
Connor Jones netted the lone Attack goal.
The Regals built period leads of 2-0 and 3-0.
Colin Gaudette earned the goaltending win.

Regals 5 Attack 1
At the Jacques Cartier Arena in Alberton, Kalim DesRoches had two goals and two assists to lead the Regals. James Doyle (2) and Chandler DesRoches also scored for the Regals.
Braden Donnolly answered for the Attack.
The Regals held period advantages of 3-1 and 5-1.
Winning goaltender was Gaudette.
