Ling re-ups for another hockey season

BRAMPTON, ONT. – Charlottetown native David Ling has signed on with the Brampton Beast for the second half of the ECHL season.

Ling, 42, is a former draft pick of the Quebec Nordiques, selected in the seventh round, 179th overall in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

He spent the last two seasons with Brampton, tallying nine goals and 20 points in 39 games last season.

The five-foot-10, 185-pound winger has played in Russia, Sweden and Italy over his pro career, which started in 1995, and in 93 NHL games with Montreal and Columbus, garnering eight points and 191 penalty minutes.

He will join former Charlottetown Islanders defenceman Cody Donaghey and UPEI Panthers blue-liner Reggie Traccitto on the Beast.
