KINKORA – Brayden Lawless has been selected as the Greco Pizza/Capt. Sub student-athlete of the month for December at Kinkora Regional High School (KRHS).
The Grade 10 student is the 16-year-old son of Dale and Debbie Lawless of Shamrock.
Brayden represents the Blazers in three different sports – basketball, hockey and he will play rugby for the first time in the spring. Brayden is a power forward in basketball, and his position in hockey is defence.
“(Brayden’s) defensive work has improved each game,” noted KRHS basketball coaches Josh Watkins and Josh MacKinnon. “(He) listens well and is very reliable on the floor.”
Outside of school, Brayden plays midget A hockey in Rustico, and he is a middle linebacker with the Papa John’s P.E.I. Varsity Tackle Football League-champion Summerside Cooke Insurance Clippers.
Brayden is a member of the agriculture diploma program at KRHS.
Brayden hopes to pursue a career working in sports following graduation from high school.
