ALBERTON – The Kings County Kings moved into sole possession of second place in the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League on Saturday night.

The Kings pulled out a 2-1 win over the Western Regals to move one point ahead of the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils. Kings County is 12-8-5 (won-lost-tied) for 29 points, and the Red Devils have 28 points on the strength of a 13-9-2 record.

At the Jacques Cartier Arena, Jacob MacEachern and Trey Vancolen scored first-period goals to stake the Kings to a 2-0 lead. The score remained that way until Kalim DesRoches got the Regals on the board at 4:34 of the third period.
Ben Bruce earned the goaltending win. Cole Gallant handled the goaltending duties for the Regals (7-11-5).
