SOURIS – Five different players recorded three points as the Kings County Kings opened the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League playoffs on a winning note.
Tyson McInnis and Reid Peardon each had two goals and an assist, Trey Vancolen had one goal and two helpers while Lucas MacAulay and Jesse Outhouse each collected three helpers in the Kings’ 9-0 decision over the Capitals.
Game 2 in the best-of-five quarter-final series goes at Credit Union Place in Summerside on Wednesday at 8:10 p.m.
Jacob MacEachern (2), Jake MacLaren (1-1) and Brodie McCarthy also scored for Kings County. Jack King (2), Ty Peardon, Riley Jamieson and Jesse McGrath chipped in with helpers.
The Kings built period leads of 3-0 and 5-0.
Nicolas Jamieson earned the shutout.
