CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Familiar confines proved cozy for the home teams as the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Red Wings downed the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers 4-3 in Abram-Village and the Eastern Maniacs upended the A&S Scrap Metal Metros 5-3 in Souris.

The Wings now lead the Island Junior Hockey League with 14-5-2 mark, while the Metros sit second at 11-9-1 and Kensington is 9-11-3. 

Eastern upped its last-place record to 6-14-1.

 

Red Wings 4, Vipers 3

Down 3-2 going into the third period, the Red Wings salted away the latest game between the long-time rivals goals by Lucas Beaulieu and Abel Arsenault in Abram-Village.

Spencer Groom and Jason Gallant each netted first-period markers for the Wings. Connor Morrissey chipped in two assists.

Tyler Gallant, Easton Smith and Campbell Gallant had the Vipers scores, while Jacob Stewart and Riley Gallant each added two helpers.

Bronson Banks earned the goaltending win over Rett Rook.

Western outshot Kensington 47-22, including 19-8 in the third. Neither team had a power-play goal in a combined five chances.

 

Maniacs 5, Metros 3

Johnathan Arsenault and Blake Jamieson each scored twice and led the Maniacs to the victory at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex.

Arsenault scored his goals in the first period along with Zach Kennific (1-1) and Jamieson, who netted his second in the game in the second frame. Arsenault also added an assist.

Curtis MacGregor and Eddie Jenkins each chipped in three assists.

Pat McGuigan, Colin Koughan (1-1) and Taylor Runighan had the Metros goals.

Cam Duffy had the goaltending victory over Sam Walsh.

The teams finished tied 30-30 in shots. Neither squad scored on the power play in a combined seven chances.
