CHARLOTTETOWN - The Holland College Hurricanes women’s volleyball team won all six sets of its home-and-home set with the Dal AC Rams in Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association weekend action, winning 25-22, 25-18, 26-24 on Saturday and 25-13, 25-21, 25-10 on Sunday.

On Saturday, Megan LeBlanc led the way with 16 kills with Philicia Johnson, Brittany States, and Lauren Moerike all recording five.

Gracie Ferguson had a match-high 31 assists while Sam Gerbig led the way in digs with 12. Dana Trainor added eight digs while LeBlanc had seven and Ferguson six.

On Sunday, LeBlanc once again led the ‘Canes attack, recording 14 kills, three aces and 11 digs. States added seven digs with Gerbig pickedup six.

Ferguson and Emma Joudrey split setting duties recording 17 and 11 assists, respectively, while Trainor led the way in digs with a match-high 19.

The ‘Canes moved to 9-3 on the season and in fourth place in the ACAA standings. Holland College sits just two points behind Mount Saint Vincent, St. Thomas and UNBSJ, all are tied for top spot in the conference. Meanwhile, the Rams fell to 1-11 and sit in seventh place.

The ‘Canes return to action Saturday and Sunday against UNBSJ in Charlottetown. Game times are 6 p.m. and noon, respectively.
