Wild splits back-to-back road games

BATHURST, N.B. – The Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild began a busy stretch by splitting back-to-back road games in the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League.

After the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period for a 3-2 overtime win on Thursday night, the Wild regrouped to defeat the Northern Moose 4-1 on Friday.
The results leave the second-place Wild at 23-6-2 (won-lost-overtime losses). Kensington concludes a stretch of three games in three nights on Saturday, when the Saint John Vitos (19-12-0-0) visit Credit Union Centre in Kensington, previously Community Gardens, for a 7:30 p.m. start.

At the K.C. Irving Regional Centre in Bathurst, N.B., Frank Fortin, Landon Clow, Chandler Wood and Evan Gallant scored for the Wild. Single helpers went to Isaac Callaghan, Colby MacArthur, Dixon MacLeod, Callum Pineau and Ryan Richards.
Samuel Arsenault netted the lone goal for the Moose (7-20-4).
Winning goaltender Caleb Coyle turned in another strong performance with a 30-save effort. The Wild directed 37 shots at Moose goaltender Alexandre Levesque.

Pride 3 Wild 2 (OT)
At MacLauchlan Arena, Hunter Bradley’s goal at 1:40 of extra time capped the Pride comeback.
The Wild held period leads of 1-0 and 2-0, but third-period goals by Luke Garnhum and Nick Reeves, who tied the game on the power play at 17:32 pulled the Pride even. Gage MacWilliams (2), Sam MacNeill, Owen MacNeill, Kennedy Gallant and Shaul Mitton added assists.
Isaac Callaghan and Colby MacArthur netted Kensington’s goals, with helpers going to Fortin, Richards and Ethan Beaulieu.
Overall, the Pride outshot the Wild 37-25. Erik MacInnis was the winning goaltender. Wild rookie netminder Chad Arsenault (15-0-1) suffered his first loss in league play this season.
