KENSINGTON – The provincial major midget hockey championship series will begin on Friday night.

The Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild will host the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride in Game 1 of the best-of-seven set at Credit Union Place in Kensington, previously Community Gardens. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.

Game 2 is scheduled for MacLauchlan Arena on the UPEI campus in Charlottetown on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

The Wild completed the 35-game regular season in second place at 26-7-2 (won-lost-overtime losses), and the Pride was fourth at 17-13-5.
The winner of this series will represent P.E.I. at the Atlantic major midget hockey championship tournament in Lantz, N.S., from March 29 to April 1.
