SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals made their first round of cuts on Friday night.
The following players have been reassigned by the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) club:

Goaltender Dawson Rodin
Goaltender Rylan Holder
Defenceman Seth Morris
Defenceman Will Proud
Defenceman Austin Callaghan
Defenceman Keigan Casey
Forward Landon Clow
Forward Sam MacNeill
Forward Riley MacDougall

“These guys have made it hard on us, they competed very hard, and we are excited for the future of this hockey club,” said Capitals head coach Billy McGuigan in a team media release. “Our cupboards are full.”

The Capitals lost their pre-season opener 6-3 to the Pictou County Crushers on Friday night, and pay a return visit to New Glasgow, N.S., for a 4:30 p.m. start on Saturday. The Caps’ next home exhibition home game is against the Amherst Ramblers on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Fans are reminded that early-bird pricing on season tickets ends Monday, Sept. 3.

The Caps are hosting a golf tournament at Mill River on Sept. 9, and anyone wishing to enter a team can do so by contacting general manager Pat McIver.
