The Hurricanes dropped a 3-1 decision on Saturday, but regrouped to post a 2-0 win on Sunday.
The two games, which were played at Eastlink Centre, closed out the Hurricanes’ home schedule in the Eastern Canadian Women’s Hockey League.
The first-place Hurricanes are 9-2-1 (won-lost-tied) in regular-season play, and second-place UNB is 7-5-0. The teams will meet again at the Aitken Centre in Fredericton, N.B., on Saturday and Sunday.

Hailey Matthews opened the game’s scoring from the slot just over three minutes into the third period on a behind-the-back pass from Hope Higginbotham. Sam Woodworth sealed the win with an empty-net goal while Mackenzie Koughan recorded the shutout.

Brynn Gilmore, Corey O’Brien and Victoria Peterson scored for UNB, which spotted Holland College a 1-0 lead on a goal by Kailey Koughan less than three minutes into the game.
Winning goaltender was Hayley Dickinson. Kara Mason took the loss.
