QUEBEC CITY – Team Atlantic is off to a 1-1 (won-start) start at the 2017 national under-18 female hockey championship.
Team Atlantic opened play with a 2-1 win over Ontario Red on Wednesday, and dropped a 4-1 decision to Ontario Blue on Thursday. Team Atlantic is back in action on Friday against Alberta at 11 a.m., Atlantic Time.
Forwards Lexie Murphy of Kensington, Taylor Gillis of Summerside and Kelly Clements of High Bank are playing with Team Atlantic.
Nelson MacAulay, who is from Souris, is Team Atlantic’s goaltending coach. MacAulay is the goaltending coach of the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild of the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League.
Ashley Stratton and Maggie Connors scored for Team Atlantic versus Ontario Red while Aimee O’Neill and Maggy Burbidge drew helpers.
Talli Warren, who was set by Connors and Josie Chisholm, scored for Team Atlantic on the power play.
