SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Capitals’ novice AA hockey team began their full-ice season on a winning note recently.

 

The Capitals overcame a 2-0 deficit en route to a 4-3 win over the Charlottetown Abbies, and also topped the Western Warriors 11-1 in recent play.

At Simmons Sport Centre in Charlottetown, Jett Mills and Caleb Adams each scored twice to account for Summerside’s goals. Mills, Drew Murphy and Nathan Jackson added assists.
For the Abbies, Megan Mossey (2) and Max Yin-Du found the back of the net, with a single assist going to Sean Yu.
The Abbies led 2-0 after the first and second periods.
Dylan Wile and Colin Waddell shared the goaltending win.

At Credit Union Place, Adams (3), Jackson (2-1), Mills (2-1), Jackson Ramsay (2-1), Ben MacGregor (1-1) and Nathan Martin scored for Summerside. Murphy and Isaac Peters added single helpers.
Thomas Morgan scored unassisted for Western.
The Capitals built period leads of 1-0 and 8-1.
Wile and Waddell again split the goaltending duties for Summerside.
