SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – The Campbellton Tigers scored three first-period goals to take Game 1 with the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals 3-2 Thursday in Summerside.

The Tigers host Game 2 of the best-of-seven Eastlink North semifinal Saturday at 7 p.m.

Francis Thibeault, Noah Whebby and Pier-Olivier Michaud scored for the visitors in the first 15:30, leading to Summerside pulling goalie Dominik Tmej after 14 shots. Alex Bishop stopped all 23 shots he faced in relief.

Thibeault, Michaud, Jabes Benedict, Charles-William Gagne, Drew Toner and Marc-Olivier Caron had assists while Greg Maggio stopped 37 shots for the win.

Zach Thususka and Cam Roberts scored for Summerside with assists to Morgan MacDonald, T.J. Shea, Brodie MacArthur and Riley Smith.

Campellton held 3-1 and 3-2 period leads.
