ABRAM-VILLAGE – The Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings hit the 50-point mark on Tuesday night.
The Red Wings scored five third-period goals en route to a 7-4 come-from-behind win over the Sherwood-Parkdale A&S Scrap Metal Metros in an Island Junior Hockey League game.
The Red Wings, who have clinched first place and home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs, are now 24-8-2 (won-lost-overtime losses). The Metros, who will finish the regular season in second place, fell to 18-16-1.
At the Evangeline Recreation Centre, the Metros held period leads of 3-1 and 3-2.
Jason Gallant had two goals and a pair of helpers to lead the Red Wings while Isaac Knox (2-1), Cole Hackett (1-2), Silas Handrahan (1-1) and affiliated player Sterling MacKendrick also dented the twine. Chasse Gallant (3), Evan Millman (2), Abel Arsenault and Connor Morrissey drew assists.
For the Metros, Tanner Lund (1-2), Nick Currie (1-1), Colin Koughan and Cale Pierce found the back of the net. Dylan MacDonald, Connor Gray and Cody McPhee set up the goals.
Luke Oliver earned the goaltending win over Alex Kelly.
