CHARLOTTETOWN – The final game in the 2017-18 Island Junior Hockey League season could be played Thursday.

The Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven championship series against the Sherwood-Parkdale A&S Scrap Metal Metros in an 8 p.m. start at the Cody Banks Arena.
A win will give the Red Wings back-to-back league titles, and a Metros’ win will force a seventh and deciding game at the Evangeline Recreation Centre on Friday night. If a Game 7 is required, it will mark the third straight year for the Red Wings going the distance in the league final.
The winner of this series will represent P.E.I. at the 2018 Don Johnson Memorial Cup Atlantic junior B hockey championship in Sydney, N.S., next week.
