KENSINGTON – Kyle Pinksen provided a spark the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers were looking for.
Pinksen scored twice and assisted on two others in leading the Vipers to a 5-2 victory over the Sherwood-Parkdale Metros in an Island Junior Hockey League match at Community Gardens on Sunday night. The win snapped a six-game losing streak for the Vipers.
Easton Smith, Garrett Murray and Tyler Gallant also scored for Kensington, which is 5-5-2 (won-lost-overtime losses). Logan Vandervelden and Parker Ronahan each collected a pair of helpers.
Colin Koughan and Cale Pierce countered for the first-place Metros (8-5-1).
The score was tied 1-1 after the opening period, and the Vipers took a 3-2 advantage into the final frame.
Cameron Visser registered the goaltending decision.
