CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Jenna Pellerin and Kameron Kielly are this week’s UPEI Panther Subway athletes of the week.
Pellerin is a second-year forward on the women's hockey team and a science student from Halifax. The Panthers finished the regular season strong during the weekend, defeating Dalhousie 5-2.
“Jenna scored two goals, leading us to our win over Dal,” said coach Bruce Donaldson. “One was a shorthanded goal, which was the turning point in the game. Jenna played a strong game on both ends of the rink, skated well and battled through a very physical game.”
Kielly is a first-year forward on the men's hockey team and a business administration student from Charlottetown.
The Panthers ended the regular season with home wins over Dalhousie and St. FX. Kielly scored three goals and had three assists, finishing his rookie season with 42 points in 30 games.
“Kam had a real good weekend,” said coach Forbes MacPherson. “He can be very dangerous offensively. Kam was able to take advantage of opportunities and performed extremely well for us.”
