BOISBRIAND, QUE. – Rocky Point’s Dixon MacLeod had two goals and an assist to pace Team P.E.I. to a 5-2 win over Nova Scotia Saturday at the Gatorade Frost Excellence Challenge in Boisbriand, Que.

He now has four goals and an assist for five points in four games.

The event is hosted by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League as a scouting opportunity for players eligible for June’s draft. There are provincial teams from the four Atlantic Canadian provinces and two teams from Quebec.

Austin Arsenault had a goal and an assist for Prince Edward Island while Devon Howatt and Riley MacDougall also scored. Isaac Wilson had a pair of assists while singles went to Ed McNeill, Kieran Gallant, Marc Richard and Noah Griffin.

Malcolm Bussey and Alex Drover scored for Nova Scotia.

St. Raphael’s Chad Arsenault made 32 saves for the victory while Joe Chambers stopped 20 shots in the loss.

Prince Edward Island held 1-0 and 3-0 period leads. The Island squad was 2-for-4 on the power play and killed all three of Nova Scotia’s opportunities with the man advantage.

P.E.I. improved to 2-2 and will play New Brunswick in Sunday’s bronze medal game at 1:45 p.m. Atlantic. New Brunswick won the round-robin game 5-2 on Thursday, the first day of the competition.
