CRAPAUD – Riley Payne and David Sato scored shootout goals for the Southside Lynx on Saturday night.
Logan Aylward scored the lone Flames’ marker in the shootout, but it wasn’t enough as the Lynx pulled out a 4-3 decision in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League game, played at the South Shore Actiplex.
Brady VanderVelden scored all three of the Lynx goals in regulation time as Southside moved one game over .500 at 8-7-0 (won-lost-overtime losses). Jarrett Mulligan, Jake Larsen, Nick VanderVelden and Nathan Paynter chipped in with helpers.
Liam O’Connor (1-1), Alex Young and Ethan MacFadyen replied for the Flames (5-5-2).
The Lynx led 1-0 after the first period, but the Flames took a 2-1 advantage into the final 20 minutes of regulation time.
Sean MacPhee earned the goaltending battle over Summer Docherty. The final shots-on-goal totals through regulation and overtime were 43-32 in Southside’s favour.
