NEW YORK – New York Islanders head coach Doug Weight spoke highly of Ross Johnston on Tuesday.

The team tweeted the following quote regarding the Suffolk native before the team played the Columbus Blue Jackets.

“I don't think he's taken a penalty without taking somebody else with him,” Weight was quoted as saying. “He's been as intimidating as you can be. He comes in, he knows how to hit, he's got good feet, he's worked hard & he's getting the puck in & creating some opportunities as well.”

The former Charlottetown Islander and Summerside Western Capital had two goals, an assist and 20 penalty minutes in six games since being called up to the Islanders.
