McKenna leads Wildcats in home opener

MONCTON, N.B. – Captain Jeremy McKenna made sure the Moncton Wildcats’ final home opener in the Moncton Coliseum was a winning one.

The sophomore forward broke a 4-4 tie al at 12:55 of the third period, and chipped in with three assists for a four-point night in leading the Wildcats’ to a 6-4 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs on Friday night.
The son of Mark and Sara McKenna of Summerside was also selected the first star of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League contest.
The teams were tied 2-2 and 4-4 after the first and second periods.
The Wildcats, who are moving to a new downtown facility next season, attracted a crowd of 5,617 fans.
The Wildcats host the Charlottetown Islanders on Saturday at 7 p.m.
