ABRAM-VILLAGE – The Eastern Maniacs will make their first trip of the season to the Evangeline Recreation Centre on Sunday.
The Island Junior Hockey League game between the Maniacs and host Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings is set for 7 p.m.
Overtime was needed to decide the last meeting between the teams in Souris as the Red Wings pulled out the win after scoring late in the third period to tie the game.
The Red Wings have recorded seven of a possible eight points in their last four games – three wins and one shootout loss.
Western sits in a second-place tie with arch-rival Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers. Both teams are 4-5-2 (won-lost-overtime losses).
The Maniacs, who are described as a young, fast and gritty team that cannot be taken lightly by Red Wings general manager JC Gallant, are fourth at 3-6-1.
