SUMMERSIDE

The South Side MacDonald’s Excavation/EF MacPhee Lynx flew out of the gate with three unanswered first period goals and were out in front 6-4 after 40 minutes en route to an 8-5 win over the Summerside Crunch Friday night. The Razzy’s Island Junior C Hockey League game was played at Slemon Park. The win gives the Lynx 18 points in 16 games.

Drew Grady led the Lynx with a hat trick and his second goal of the night with 6:52 to go in the second held up as the game winner. Also scoring for the Lynx were Tyler Jurkowski (1,2), Brady Vandervelden (1,1), Nick, Vandervelden (1,1), Jake Larsen (1,1) and Rhys Caseley. Also picking up assists were Riley Payne (3), Hunter Pauley-Smith (2), Chandler Dawson and Jarrett Mulligan. Koby Bridges picked up the goaltending win.

Tanner Jamieson (2,1), James Birt (2) and Chad Wilson (1,1) handled the Crunch’s scoring. Assists were awarded to Remi Arsenault, Marc-Andre Gallant, Brandon Thomas and Kolton Stright.

The Crunch were assessed 10 minors, a game misconduct and a 10-minute misconduct. Seven minors were called against the Lynx.
