TIGNISH – The Southside Lynx won and lost in weekend play in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League.
After losing 5-2 to the Sherwood-Parkdale Metros on Saturday night, the Lynx pulled out a 4-3 overtime decision versus the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces on Sunday evening.
At the Tignish Credit Union Arena, Brady VanderVelden’s second goal of the game proved to be the difference after Daniel Collister’s second goal of the game with 59 seconds remaining in the third period evened the score for the Lynx. VanderVelden added two assists.
Will Tuplin (2) and Brayden Arsenault (1-1) countered for Tignish, which trailed 1-0 after one period and led 3-2 after two.
Sean MacPhee was the winning goaltender, and Kristen Clements tended goal for Tignish.
Southside is 2-1-0 (won-lost-overtime losses), and Tignish is 1-1-1.
