Lumberjacks strike for two quick goals versus Tigers

SUMMERSIDE – The South Shore Lumberjacks struck early in the second period.

Aidan Casey scored nine seconds into the final 25-minute period, and Samuel Cyr-Ledoux added an insurance marker at 3:26 to give the Lumberjacks a 3-1 win over the Campbellton Tigers at Credit Union Place’s Ice Pad on Tuesday evening.
The Tigers’ Jonathan Coffey and South Shore’s Logan O’Neill exchanged first-period goals.
Overall, the Tigers outshot the Lumberjacks 37-35 as South Shore held a slim 23-22 advantage in the second period.
Winning goaltender was MacKenzie Janes, and Tristan Gray was between the pipes for Campbellton.
The game’s three stars were:
1. MacKenzie Janes (Lumberjacks), 2. Tristan Gray (Tigers), 3. Aidan Casey (Lumberjacks).
South Shore is now 5-3-0-0 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses). The Tigers fell to 2-5-1-0.
