Leonard sparks Blizzard to win over Bearcats

SUMMERSIDE – Liam Leonard held the hot hand for the Edmundston Blizzard on Wednesday.

Dylan Burton of the Truro Bearcats and the Edmundston Blizzard’s Alex Lavoie race for a loose puck to the left of Blizzard goaltender Francis Asselin. The action took place during Wednesday’s game at the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) Showcase in Summerside. The Blizzard prevailed 4-2.

Leonard was in on all four goals, scoring once and assisting on three others, in leading the Blizzard to a 4-2 decision over the Truro Bearcats. The contest, played at Eastlink Arena, was part of the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) Showcase.
Frederic Beauchesne-Dubuc (1-2), Alex Lavoie (1-1) and Maxime Grandmaison also scored for the Eastlink North Division-leading Blizzard, who improved to 8-1-0-0 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses).
Riley Baggs and Cameron MacLeod countered for the Bearcats (5-5-0-0).
Francis Asselin earned the goaltending win over Kevin Resop.
