The hometown Vipers shut out the Falcons 3-0 in the Island Junior Hockey League match.
James Murphy opened up the scoring in the first period with help from Brian Kelly and assistant captain Drew Coulson.
After a scoreless second period, the Vipers pulled further ahead with two more goals in the final stanza to secure the win. Jordan Mayhew and Adam Wight, another assistant captain, added the two other markers. Assists were credited to Kyle Doucette, assistant captain, who assisted on both third period goals, as well as Braden Stewart and Nick Bouchey.
Kody MacDonald was in nets for Kensington to record the shut out win. He stopped 31 shots.
Falcon's goalie Daniel Nicholson faced a total of 37 shots on net.
The Vipers see action again on Tuesday night when the Arsenault Fish Mart Red Wings host the Vipers in Evangeline at 8 p.m. This will mark the final game of the Island Junior Hockey League regular season.
The Red Wings are currently tied with Holland College for second place and would need one point on Tuesday night to gain home-ice advantage over Holland College in the semifinals.
