SLEMON PARK – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces erupted in the third period.
The Aces scored five goals in the final frame to break open a close game and post a 9-4 decision over the Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League game at The Plex on Friday night.
Drake Smallman (2-1), Dawson Sellick (2-1), Brayden Arsenault (1-2) and Keaton Horne (0-3) all recorded three points, while goaltender Kristen Clemens turned in a 41-save effort, to lead the Aces. Brayden Handrahan, Lexin Gaudet, Brandon Forsythe and Colton Chaisson also scored for Tignish, which improved to 5-3-1 (won-lost-overtime losses).
Tyler Hobb (1-2), Ryan Sonier (1-1), Tanner Jamieson and Remi Arsenault replied for the Crunch (2-6-1).
The Aces held period leads of 3-1 and 4-2.
Overall, the Crunch outshot the Aces 45-26.
