AMHERST, N.S. – Forward Hunter McIntyre of Kilmuir earned an assist in helping the Amherst Ramblers post a 4-0 victory over the Miramichi Timberwolves on Saturday night.
The MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) pre-season game was played at the Amherst Stadium.
The Ramblers recently acquired McIntyre in a trade with the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals.
Friday night, goaltender Erik MacInnis of Stratford stopped 11 of 13 shots in 29:55 of action for the St. Stephen Aces, who lost 5-2 to the Grand Falls Rapids – the former Woodstock Slammers.
MacInnis played last year with the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride of the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League.
Also Friday, goaltender Tyler Caseley of Kensington blocked 12 of 14 shots in 29:23 of action for the Yarmouth Mariners in a 5-4 overtime win over the Valley Wildcats.
