Islanders coming home with three road victories from Quebec

DRUMMONDVILLE, QUE. – Will Bower scored twice, including the game-winning goal, Sunday as the Charlottetown Islanders capped off a perfect road trip with a 5-2 win at the Drummondville Voltigeurs.

Pierre-Olivier Joseph, Pascal Aquin and Francois Beauchemin also scored in the win.

Carl Neill, Daniel Sprong, Keith Getson, Matthew Grouchy, Adam Marsh, Gregor MacLeod, Nicolas Meloche and Guillaume Brisebois each had an assist.

Nathan Hudgin and Mathieu Sevigny replied for Drummondville.

Matthew Welsh made 27 saves for the win while Olivier Rodrigue stopped 29 shots in the loss.

The game was scoreless after the first period, despite the Islanders holding a 17-4 shot advantage. The Isles took a 3-1 lead to the third.

Charlottetown improved to 29-14-2-0 while Drummondville is 21-20-0-5.

The Islanders won three games in three days with victories at Gatineau and Sherbrooke. They are on the road Friday at Cape Breton before a showdown at home on Sunday with the Saint John Sea Dogs.
