Open up six-point lead in standings

FREDERICTON – It was two road victories that could prove to be exactly what the Holland Hurricanes needed in order to enter the playoffs as the No. 1 seed.
A 3-0 win on Saturday, followed by a 4-1 victory on Sunday for Holland College over UNB, gave the Hurricanes a 10-4-0 (won-lost-tied) record, good for a six-point lead in the Eastern Canadian Women’s Hockey League standings as the regular season is winding down. Second-place UNB fell to 7-5-0.
The Hurricanes will play their final regular-season games on March 2 and 3 in Wolfville, N.S., against the Acadia Axewomen.
The ‘Canes will host the 2018 Atlantic Collegiate women’s hockey championship at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre in Montague from March 23 to 25.
