The franchise will compete as one of two Island entries in the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League.

The media release issued by Hockey P.E.I. explains that, as a result of recent changes with the Charlottetown Islanders, it is in the process of accepting bids for one franchise. P.E.I.’s other entry, Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild, will continue to operate under its current management.

Groups interested in the bid application process can contact Hockey P.E.I., and the deadline for submissions is April 22 at 4 p.m. Bids submitted after that deadline will not be accepted.

The new franchise and Wild will play a regular-season schedule with the New Brunswick teams, and then meet in a provincial playoff series to determine P.E.I.’s representative at the Atlantic championship tournament.

The Wild, who finished first in the regular-season standings, is representing P.E.I. at this year’s regional championship in Newfoundland and Labrador from March 31 to April 3.
