Hockey Panthers off to 2-0 start

CHARLOTTETOWN – The UPEI Panthers are 2-0-0 (won-lost-overtime losses) in the Atlantic University Sport Men’s Hockey Conference.

UPEI Panthers

JC Campagna scored the lone goal of the shootout to give the Panthers a 4-3 win over the national-champion UNB Varsity Reds on Saturday.

Campagna, Nelson Armstrong and Marcus Power scored in regulation time for UPEI. Jordan Murray (2) and Morell native Stephen Anderson, who tied the game with a power-play goal at 19:28 of the third period, scored for UNB (1-0-1), coached by Bedeque native Gardiner MacDougall.

Winning goaltender was Matt Mahalak, and Alex Dubeau took the loss.
