KENSINGTON – Jax Harper’s goal with 11:03 left in the third period earned the Western Regals a point on Tuesday night.
The Regals skated to a 3-3 tie with the Robins Mid-Isle Matrix in P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League play at Community Gardens.
Tristan Cahill had a goal and an assist to lead the Alberton-based Regals, who are 6-6-2 (won-lost-tied). Riley Avery also scored while Sterling MacKendrick and Alex Hutchinson added assists.
Lucas Buch, David Sato and Zac MacKay dented the twine for the league-leading Matrix (12-3-2). Bailey Anderson, Nick Trainor, Duncan Picketts, Nathan Mahar and Colin Goodwin chipped in with helpers.
The teams were tied 2-2 after the first period, and the Matrix took a 3-2 advantage into the second intermission.
Goaltenders were Colin Gaudette (Regals) and Matthew Jelley (Matrix).
