Hamill’s OT goal gives Wildcats series lead over Kings

All three games have been decided by one goal

Madeline Hamill scored the winning goal 13 seconds into overtime on Wednesday night to lift the Mid-Isle Wildcats to a 4-3 win over the Kings County Kings. Mid-Isle now leads the best-of-five P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League championship series 2-1.

CRAPAUD – Madeline Hamill sent the Mid-Isle Wildcats to another thrilling victory in the P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League final on Wednesday night.

 

Hamill scored 13 seconds into overtime to lift the Wildcats to a 4-3 victory, and a 2-1 lead over the Kings County Kings in the best-of-five series. Game 4 is scheduled for Montague on Friday at 8 p.m.
At the South Shore Actiplex, Hamill, with her first of two goals in the game, Sophie Flynn (1-1) and Maggie Linkletter (1-1) scored in regulation time for the Wildcats. Other assists were credited to Lexie Murphy, Makayla Larsen and Kennedy Francis.

Emma Stewart, Emma Dingwell and Jacy MacMillan answered for the Kings, who received assists from Kelly Clements (2) and Emma Dixon.
The teams were tied 1-1 after the first period, and the Kings took a 3-2 advantage into the third. Linkletter’s goal with 3:08 remaining sent the game to overtime.
Winning goaltender was Hannah LeClair.
