SUMMERSIDE – Taylor Gillis and Hilarie Gaudet ignited the Western Wind’s offence on Thursday night.
Gillis scored a hat trick and added two assists for a five-point effort, and Gaudet chipped in with four assists, as the Wind posted a 6-2 win over the Kings County Kings. The P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League game was played at Credit Union Place.
Gracyn Handrahan contributed two goals while Hannah DesRoches added a single tally to round out Western’s scoring. Mya Chisholm added a pair of helpers.
Kelly Clements (1-1) and Bailey MacLean replied for the Kings, who received single helpers from Lily MacKinnon and Kyara Somers.
The game was scoreless after one period, and the Wind took a 2-0 advantage into the final frame.
Darcie Augustine earned the goaltending win.
