A total of eight atom AAA teams from P.E.I., Nova Scotia and New Brunswick will compete in two divisions.
The tournament is held in memory of Edd McNeill, a longtime supporter of amateur sports in Prince County. McNeill’s son, Dwayne, coaches the host Summerside team, and his grandson, Sid, is a member of that squad.
The Capitals will play in the Day Division along with the Pownal Red Devils, Moncton Hawks and Pécheurs Acadiens from New Brunswick
The McNeill Division is comprised of the Western Warriors, Kings County Kings, Mid-Isle Matrix and Sackville Flyers from Nova Scotia.
First games
Play gets underway on Thursday at 6 p.m., with the Capitals taking on Pownal. That game will be followed by Western facing Mid-Isle at 7:15 p.m.
Play will resume Friday at 9 a.m., and the round robin concludes early Saturday afternoon.
The popular skills competition is scheduled for Saturday at 2:10 p.m.
The semifinals, featuring the top two teams in each division, will be played Sunday morning, with the championship game scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
