BATHURST, N.B. – Noah Dobson and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan opened the 2018 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs on a strong note Friday night.

Dobson earned a goal, an assist and was named the second star in the Titan’s 4-1 win over the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series. The Saguenéens, however, rebounded to win Game 2 on Saturday 4-0 to send the teams back to Chicoutimi, Que., for Game 3 on Tuesday night tied 1-1.
Dobson, a Summerside native, registered 69 points in 67 regular-season games for the Titan in his sophomore season.

Assists on tying goal
Elsewhere, Jeremy McKenna of Summerside earned an assist on Alexander Khovanov’s tying goal in the second period against the Rimouski Oceanic on Saturday. The Oceanic would go on to win the game 2-1 in overtime to tie the series 1-1 after the Wildcats won the series opener 4-1 on Friday night.
Defenceman Jacob Arsenault of Richmond is in his rookie season with the Wildcats.
Carson MacKinnon, also of Summerside, is a forward with the Oceanic, who visits the Wildcats for Game 3 on Tuesday.
