CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Summerside hockey player Noah Dobson is the newest KidSport ambassador in Prince Edward Island.
KidSport P.E.I. made the announcement on Thursday.
Dobson has agreed to help promote the program while he chases the President’s Cup with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
The 17-year-old defenceman won gold with the Canada at the under-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup this year in the Czech Republic. He most recently was named to the 2018 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects game in 2018 and played in the CIBC Canada/Russia Series with the QMJHL all-stars.
Dobson has been mentioned as a potential first-round pick in the June entry draft.
KidSport works to break down the financial barriers in sport, by providing grants to families who apply and meet its criteria. Each year, KidSport must raise the dollars needed to meet the demand of families applying for grants.
