MONTAGUE – Paige Deighan’s goal with 1:10 remaining in the third period lifted the Western Wind into a 4-4 tie with the Kings County Kings on Saturday.
The Kings hosted the P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League game at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre in Montague.
Taylor Gillis had two goals and an assist to pace the Wind’s offence while Gracyn Handrahan chipped in with a single goal and helper. Josee Gallant added an assist.
For the Kings, Airika Pollard, Jacy MacMillan, Grace Gormley and Kyara Somers contributed goals. Kelly Clements (2), Emma Dixon, Gabrielle MacDonald, Emma Stewart and Jenna White drew helpers.
There was no scoring in the first period, and the Wind took a 2-1 advantage into the final frame.
Goaltenders were Darcie Augustine (Wind) and Abby Sherry (Kings).
