Bronson Beaton had two goals and two assists to lead the Saint Mary’s Huskies to an 8-6 win over the UPEI Panthers Friday in Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey action.

Kensington’s Thomas Stavert, Stephen Shipley, Bradley Latour, Hunter Garlent, Taylor Burke and Connor McGlynn also scored. Former P.E.I. Rocket Ben Duffy added two assists.

Brooklyn's Darcy Ashley and J.C. Campagna each had a goal and two assists for the Panthers. It was Ashley’s first game of the season.

Sam Aulie, Cody Payne, Gabe Guertler and Kurt Etchegary also scored. R.T. Rice had two assists while Austin Levi, Brent Andrews and Nelson Armstrong each had one.

Matt Mahalak allowed three goals on six shots in 16:37 before Connor Wilkinson took over. Wilkinson allowed five goals on 21 shots.

Former Charlottetown Islanders goalie Eric Brassard made 13 saves for the win.

The Huskies held period leads of 4-2 and 6-5.

Saint Mary’s improved to 3-5-1 while UPEI is 4-3-2. The Panthers host Acadia tonight at 7 p.m.
