SLEMON PARK – The Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch will host their home opener on Friday.
The North River Flames will visit The Plex for an 8 p.m. faceoff.
“We have some great hometown guys on our roster, and we are so honoured to be able to have this junior C team represent the Summerside area, and really hope to see lots of fans in the stands this season,” said Crunch manager Lynn Palmer.
The Crunch, who is entering their second season in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League, sports an early-season record of 1-1-0 (won-lost-overtime losses), and is coming off a 7-1 road win over the Georgetown Eagles in Murray Harbour on Sunday.
The Flames, meanwhile, are 2-1-0.
The teams have split two previous meetings this season, with the Crunch winning an exhibition game and the Flames taking the regular-season opener for both teams in Cornwall.
The Crunch’s coaching staff consists of head coach Gian Martinson and assistants Kendell Palmer, Coady Palmer and Troy MacAusland.
The Crunch has announced local artist Kristen Cameron will perform O’Canada, and there will be door prizes handed out to fans.
