The Southside Lynx has been selected as the host of the 2018 Maritime Hockey North junior C championship. The tournament will run from April 4 to 8 at the South Shore Actiplex.
“On behalf of the Southside E.F. MacPhee Construction/MacDonald Excavation Lynx Hockey Club, we are honoured and excited to be working with Hockey P.E.I. to bring this championship to Crapaud, P.E.I.,” said Lynx general manager and tournament co-chair Steve Watts. “The host committee hopes that the 2018 Maritime Hockey North junior championship will provide a wonderful and lasting experience for all participants.”
Along with the host Lynx, the tournament will include representatives from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, a provincial representative from P.E.I., and a team representing Hockey North.
A selection committee comprised of members of the Hockey P.E.I. Junior Council reviewed the bid applications.
The Lynx has won three Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League championships in a row. Southside was the runner-up at the 2015 regional championship.
