The Central Storm will host the event at the Bell Aliant Centre on the UPEI campus from April 5 to 8.
The five-team tournament will crown the top bantam AAA team from the region. The host Central Storm will be joined by the provincial championship from Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, along with a provincial representative from P.E.I.
A selection committee comprised of members of the Hockey P.E.I. Minor Council reviewed the bid applications and selected the Storm as the event host.
“On behalf of the Central Storm female bantam AAA hockey team and the host organizing committee, we are honoured and excited to be able to host the 2018 Atlantic female bantam AAA hockey championships at Bell Alliant Centre in April,” said host committee representative Chris Chaisson. “This will be a great week of events showcasing the top bantam female teams in Atlantic Canada.
“We look forward to working with Hockey P.E.I., and the City of Charlottetown to feature a first-class event for everyone to enjoy and take part in.”
The event website and full schedule will be released at a later date.
