CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Sherwood Drug Mart Central Attack scored three times in the second period en route to a 5-3, series-tying win over the Western Regals Monday in P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League playoff action in Charlottetown.
The best-of-five quarter-final is even at 1-1. The league postponed Game 3 on Tuesday in Alberton because of a freezing rain warning and moved it to Thursday. Game time is 8:20 p.m. in Alberton.
Nicholas Brown scored two of his three goals in the decisive second frame, while Kyle Martin (1-1) chipped in a single score. Dylan MacDonald and an empty-netter by Brown completed Central goal-scorers list.
Emmet Lyons added two assists.
Sterling MacKendrick (1-1), Tristan Cahill and Oliver Smallman with the game’s lone power-play score netted the Regals markers.
Matthew Halliwell earned the win over Colin Gaudette.
After a scoreless first period, Central led 3-1 at the second intermission.
